PIA- Pathetic people to fly with!

PIA once was the king of skies all over the world with its motto “Great people to fly with.” Everywhere people instantly recognized its smartly dressed air hostesses in green and white outfits and with big smiles. People actually wanted to be a part of PIA. It was known for precise accuracy and was known for their punctuality and on-time departures and arrivals. That was many decades ago but now this International Airline can never maintain their status to be INTERNATIONAL.

Let me shower some beautiful words in praise of PIA after which I will highlight some GREAT PEOPLE who flew along me. On entering airport, there were 4 counters open for PIA flights saying “ALL PIA FLIGHTS” that includes five flights to all different places that are Dubai, Jeddah, Riyadh, China and Dammam. Each flight’s departure time was with a difference of one or two hours that means boarding time was around same. Each flight contain minimum 100 passengers that made 1000 passengers at the same time at only four counters!! This is PIA’s management!

Now let’s talk about “Great people” with whom I had my “pleasant journey”. Pure Pakistanis who were going abroad first time couldn’t stop their EYES GAZING, mouth DROOLING and lips COMMENTING at our HANDSOME airhostesses. HANDSOME!

The pilot uncle was another great part of my journey because of whom I couldn’t read novel. Thanks for smooth flight he was giving us. After this experience I know why many PIA plane crashes. It’s high time to train PIA pilots!! Believe me he could have taken our life!

The journey becomes more pleasant when the person <who doesn’t know any kind of thing known as VOMIT BAG> vomits beside you and on showing VOMIT bag asks HOW TO OPEN IT! Arghh! UNCLE DO U KNOW WHERE THE WASHROOM IS??  FOR GOD SAKE GO THERE! JUST GOOO!! <I thought> But he kept sitting. Thank God my nose, ears everything was jam! First time I thank God for the flue! Huh..

Landing was more pathetic than take off. One of the passengers stood to take out his luggage when the plane started its landing and I immediately pulled my self on side to be safe if anything falls. GREAT PEOPLE TO DIE WITH!

“PIA- Don’t fly with us”
“PIA-PATHETIC PEOPLE TO FLY WITH!”
PIA- NEVER fly with THEM!”
“PIA- Great people to DIE with! ”

Happy Winters!!

The day when you leave the house without any sweater thinking “yaar sardi kaahan hoti hai yahan” and as soon as you leave the house, you start feeling “pehn letay tu acha hota”, travelling all your way shivering and chattering your teeth, still hoping “temperature will get adjusted with time” but when the sun starts playing hide and seek and the AC of room is accidently turned on, you regret rest of the day sneezing and shivering in blanket thinking “Waaat lag gaee yaar! kal say pakka sweater pehn k jana hai” and when you leave the home next day, you pull off your sweater because it’s again the normal temperature!!

That exactly my friend is the point when you realize “ap Karachi may hain boss! Yahan sardi aese hoti hai!”, so scream out loud HAPPY WINTERS KARACHI CITY!!

And the journey begins…

Certain journey in life becomes a part of our permanent memory. It is not necessary that a journey must be marked with some specific incident for it to become a soothing memory for the coming years. Sometimes, simple time that you spend with your family becomes such a part. Sometimes, simple smiles make your journey unforgettable. A similar type of story I experienced couple of weeks ago.

We were quite sleepy when we left our home. We passed the city watching “Calm city” which we knew will be soon going to be called “Busy City”. It was early morning and sun had not risen. Soon, we were on Karachi highway, maintaining average speed, preparing ourselves for the long journey which we had to go through.

While seeing off the city of lights, I watched every movement of the Round-Shape Allah’s creation which changed its color from mild orange to bright yellow. The Sun looked really soothing in that early morning time. Clouds were spread across the sky in such a way as if someone had intentionally arranged them to make it picturesque. The mild sunlight of rising sun coming behind the clouds, the flock of birds dancing and singing above sky and the sun itself intensified the splendor of beautiful morning.

Due to the changing weather and the early morning time of the day, dew and fog could easily be noticed. As we proceed towards Hyderabad, there were times when we were unable to see the road in front us. It felt like an unsolved mystery in which every step you take unaware of what will come to you. Every little advancement was full of enthusiasm. There was a specific excitement which was moving us ahead. Some people preferred to stop at side, but we still chose to move slowly in such a low visibility. Surely, there was no competition in being ahead, but to conquer this mystery and to glorify the nature before everyone else.

A couple of time passed in such a way, when the intensified sunlight knocked my eyes, informing me that sun had risen significantly. I watched upward through the window; the sun was all set. And the smooth journey was already in run…

Graffiti Zone

Can u name a place where there is anti-government slogans as well as personal objections and from artist based poetry to their own one sided love stories?

There is definitely a place where one goes to attend the call of nature and along it for having a physical and mental relief by “all” means. Public Toilet which is frequently used by all the people to meet a common need has also become the perfect place for the people to speak their heart out.

Public Toilets or washrooms are ideal place for those who are not heard, it’s the ideal place for them to release their body and mind at once. In our cultural settings, public toilets seems to be like a SPEAKING CORNER for our people who can write, speak, draw anything without fear of censorship or whatsoever.

Have you noticed the words and sentences on Public Toilet wall??

The government can ban the people to express their feelings publicly but they can’t ban it within Public toilets. Be it the matter of Judges or current inflation disaster, Presidential thing, thanks to toilets, people can write anything they can’t express in public.

Same goes with Shy lovers who express their love in toilet” I LOVE YOU XYZ” ,”TUM NAY MUJH SAY BEWAFAI KI” are the most common sentences in toilet as if XYZ will come and read just for him!! Furthermore, if you want some update about artists, again I would recommend you public toilets for seeing stuff like “MEERA KI ANGREZI”, “Madhuri kay baghair zindgi adhori”, “Amir ki dhobi”, are the most common and “mentionable” examples.

I think in these public toilets voting boxes should be kept as its walls also offer some serious comments about government, ruling party and organizational matters as well. Every word there needs no further clarification as everything is clear and censor-less. If I could advice politicians, I would have asked them to visit Public toilets frequently to gather public opinions about them because at times it seems that the whole election campaign had been run there.

The differences in contents of Toilet graffiti varies from place to place. In companies or factories, it is mostly about boss or about another employee. Hospitals may have scandals or worst come worst patients write how nurses attend them!!

Many show their poetry skills on toilet walls by writing rhyming couplets and “gutter” poetries. I can say it’s an ideal place to hold “Mehfil-e-Mushaira” too. I think toilet graffiti can be called “MESS-COMMUNICATION”, a unique way of depicting the inner picture on toilet walls by masses.

Our public toilets will remain the way they are, free of diplolomacy, cenorship. We can only hope they change, but dont we always hope of changes in Pakistan?

“SINCE WRITING ON TOILET WALLS IS DONE NEITHER FOR CRITICAL ACCLAIM, NOR FINANCIAL REWARDS, IT IS THE PUREST FORM OF ART”
